Ian Taylor
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the National Laboratory of the Rockies (formerly National Renewable Energy Laboratory) bringing my background in statistics to machine learning, AI, and renewable energy applications. My work at NLR includes developing surrogate models for multi-modal data and uncertainty quantification and calibration for next-gen electrical grid simulations. I graduated from Colorado State University with a PhD in statistics in October 2023. My PhD research is on record linkage, network statistics, and Markov chain Monte Carlo for streaming data. Previously, I earned a bachelors degree in math from Clemson University and was a strategy analyst at CarMax Auto Finance. Outside of my work, I enjoy cooking, cycling, electronics and home networking.
